Named after Pier Paolo Pasolini, one of the most influential and revolutionary figures of twentieth-century Italian culture — poet, filmmaker, writer, and intellectual of extraordinary sensitivity — the award pays tribute to those who embody the creative courage, freedom of expression, and human and civic commitment that defined his timeless body of work.
Through a vision capable of uniting art, truth, and social reflection, Pasolini transformed cinema into an instrument of profound inquiry into the human condition and society.
