Inside MAMA – Matera Market, MATIFF establishes IDEA’MATER – Authors’ Forum, a European and international platform dedicated to invention, writing, research, and co-creation of new audiovisual content. IDEA’MATER represents the creative heart of MAMA: the place where industry meets authorship and where technological transformations are turned into new narrative possibilities. The project comes from the belief that a contemporary audiovisual market shouldn’t just be about buying and selling works and rights, but should also contribute to the very birth of projects, creating connections between authors, producers, broadcasters, public service media, platforms, cultural institutions, universities, and local communities.

In collaboration with the Après Varan Cine-club Festival in Paris and in line with the goals of the Eurovisioni Festival, IDEA’MATER proposes the gradual building of a European network of local co-creation labs, where trans-European teams can develop films, series, documentaries, and short films along with their potential extensions into new media: artificial intelligence, immersive experiences, cultural gaming, and interactive storytelling.

Matera thus becomes the starting point of a process that brings together territory, creativity, technology, and industry.
